The Farrimond hitch is a great quick release and tensioning hitch. Take care when dressing this knot. It works in a very similar way to the Prussic hitch but is tied on a bight of cord and it is quick release knot. This knot requires carful dressing to ensure it does not slip. Once the knot is tied, carefully pull the loops together and tighten any loose loops. This hitch can be used for hammocks and is a really great knot for tarps. The farrimond hitch can be combined with a truckers hitch to provide more strength. See here for knot terminology. The Farrimond hitch is good for hanging a a hammock.
