The Cow hitch is a very simple – must have knot. Useful for hanging things up and/or lashing to pretty much any object. A single cow hitch can be made more secure by repeating the knot around the object multiple times. The cow hitch is easy to untie but is not quick release like the Evenk hitch or adjustable like the Prusik or Klemheist hitch. See here for knot terminology.
